Wilson x Sirius

This long-lined and very correctly built stallion stood out during his performance test with his outstanding attitude, a trait of great importance for the Gelderlander breeding program. In addition, he demonstrated very good aptitude for both jumping and dressage. He is currently competing at Z2 level and is being prepared for the Small Tour. He clearly shows talent for the more demanding Grand Prix movements.

Markant is sired by the Small Tour stallion Wilson (Koss x Cabochon), who was highly successful with a Japanese rider in Young Riders competitions. His dam, Wiezelma, as her name suggests, descends from the well-known Zelma line. This dam line has produced a long list of quality dressage horses, including the 1.60m showjumping horse Ottoline Slottie. Notably, Markant is bred almost 100% Gelderlander.

During his performance test in Ermelo, Markant received remarkably high scores, including two 9s for canter and attitude. For his aptitude as both a dressage and jumping horse, he scored an 8. He also impressed the judges during his harness test, earning an 8.5. His riders described him as a pleasure to ride in the field — a particularly striking compliment.

At the offspring inspection in 2022, Markant presented an outstanding collection of foals: youngsters with size, length, and plenty of movement.
